A farm house in New Lenox has burned to the ground after a fire broke out overnight.

The two story house went up in flames around 11:30 last night near 120th and West Laraway road.

Firefighters had a hard time getting the fire under control because there weren’t enough fire hydrants. Tanker trucks had to be called in and additional crews ran water from hydrants in a nearby neighborhood.

Two people who were in the building had already gotten out by the time fire crews arrived. The cause of fire is under investigation.
