CHICAGO — The longest running farmers market in Chicago kicks off today at Daley Plaza with an opening ceremony being held at 11:30 am.

“The markets, managed by the City of Chicago will sell fresh fruits, vegetables, plants, and flowers—as well as other prepared food items—providing residents across the city to access fresh and healthy foods all summer long,” Mayor Rahm Emanuel said earlier in a statement.

Officials will also announce the winner of this years reusable bag contest at today’s ceremony and will crown one of three CPS high school finalists with a prize.
