A man tried to lure three girls into his SUV on a playground behind Grimes Elementary School, in the Clearing neighborhood.
It happened shortly after noon Thursday, during recess; the man called the girls over; instead, they walked away and alerted a school employee.
Police say the man drove a black, newer-model Honda CRV with two New York Yankees stickers on the rear window.
