A restaurant on the West Side celebrated its 75th anniversary with an appearance by the Stanley Cup, Saturday night.

palacegrillThe Palace Grill is a popular hang out for Chicago Blackhawks fans.

In addition to fans, the restaurant has welcomed many celebrities including Mayor Daley, Oprah, Al Gore, and even a Russian Prime Minister.

It’s owner, George Lamperis, was honored earlier in the day by getting his name up on a Chicago street sign.

Lamperis is a cancer survivor, and says he hopes to be around for the Palace Grill’s centennial anniversary in 2038.
