CHICAGO — Fat Tuesday is just days away, and the Chicago area is getting ready to celebrate.
WGN’s Marcella Raymond was at Delightful Pastries in Jefferson Park as the bakery gets ready for the Fat Tuesday rush.
Among the different paczkis available were those filled with Jameson, vodka custard and rum. There were also classic strawberry and whipped cream.
“We like to bake with alcohol. It makes things so much better. It makes things delicious and it’s a great way to start your day,” Dobra Bielinski said.
Fat Tuesday is the day before Christians start giving up things such as sweets for Lent.
