Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Cheap Trick doesn’t perform for just anyone.

Frontman Robin Zander tells The Guardian the Republican National Committee offered the band $100,000 to perform at its convention in Cleveland this summer. The band says it seriously considered, but declined.

“Maybe we should have accepted it – but we would all have got swastika guitars made,” Zander told The Guardian, adding, “We thought better of it.”

The Rockford, Illinois-based band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this month. The group is known for hits such as “I Want You to Want Me” and “Surrender.”
