The legendary Billy Goat Tavern may have to temporarily move or close its location beneath Michigan Avenue due to plans for redeveloping the building above it.

Owner Sam Sianis plans to meet today with the National Association of Realtors, which owns the building at 430 North Michigan.

Sianis says he’s been assured he can keep the bar made famous by “Saturday Night Live” at the subterranean location it’s occupied for nearly half a century.

He hopes to keep the place the same, no matter what changes are made to the building.
