CHICAGO — Metra issued a statement to customers Thursday that the Madison Street entrance at Union Station has been closed for repairs and inspections until further notice.

This announcement comes after a woman was hit by several pounds of falling concrete on Tuesday.

“In addition, tracks No. 5, No. 7 and No. 9 on the North Concourse will remain out of service through this evening Metra customers who normally enter or exit Union Station from Madison Street should use the entrance at Adams, Jackson, Canal or Clinton,” Metra said in the statement.

Metra is also advising commuters to allow for extra time to reach your boarding platform.
