All afternoon long lines of traffic tied up nearly every north side Chicago street near Lincoln Park.
More than double the amount of cars in an area already tight when it comes to traffic meant long waits to go anywhere.
“We live by the lake and we looked out the window it was standing still,” says a resident.
“Wall to wall people to what’s ever going on in the park and the potholes.
it’s horrible.”
The traffic problems started when police shut down parts of Lake Shore Drive early this afternoon as they spend hours in a standoff with a murder suspect.
“I hope it gets under control soon we are just trying to get home.”
Even as the night wore on the traffic never really thinned out.
“It took nearly two hours to get downtown, we almost miss a show.”
