CHICAGO — The Chicago Police Department has issued a business alert after three armed robberies were reported in Bridgeport within nine days of each other.

According to the Chicago Police Department, three separate armed robberies have occurred at a business on the 2400 block of South Archer Avenue in the city’s Bridgeport neighborhood within nine days.

The following are the dates and times the armed robberies occurred at the Bridgeport business:

  • 1:50 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 19
  • 12:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 26
  • 4:40 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 28

During these incidents, the suspect approaches victims at the front counter of the business and announces a robbery. The suspect then allegedly takes the money from the register and flees the scene in a red Dodge van.

The suspect involved has been described as an African-American man between 30 and 39-years-old, 5-foot-9 and 6 feet tall, and weighing 200 pounds. He also was reportedly wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt, gray hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans.

No further information has been provided at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

The Chicago Police Department want to remind residents if you are confronted by an assailant to remain calm, remember any unique physical characteristics, never pursue a fleeing assailant, and immediately report the incident.
