Brittney Payton has seen it all! After six years on Chicago’s Best our “L’il Sweetness” has had the best of the best. So when Britt told us her top 5 of 2016 it took some real strength not to make a break from the office and pig out all day long!
Without further ado (and in no particular order), here are Brittney’s top 5 favorite meals of 2016:
Boo Coo Roux: My family is from New Orleans and I was raised on great Cajun food. I can be a little picky when it comes tasting the best, which is why I was so impressed with the fare from this Cajun-centric food truck. I’m not afraid to say they have THE BEST gumbo I have had on the show!
Rip’s Tavern: If you’re in the mood for a little road trip you’d be hard pressed to find a better spot for fried chicken! Rip’s unique batter makes for a perfectly crispy outside and an oh-so juicy inside. Be prepared to wait… you won’t be the only one dying for that chicken!
Osteria Langhe: Osteria Langhe is the perfect westside date night. The ambiance is great and the food is delicious. Don’t leave without trying the plin- it’ll change your life!
Conte Di Savoia : I did a small feature on this market for our first season when we explored the Little Italy neighborhood. It took six years to do a full segment, but oh man, was it worth the wait! The market has everything you could need for a perfect Italian dinner and the deli makes a killer Italian sandwich.
Bobtail Ice Cream Company: Anyone who watches this show knows that I love sweets! Bobtail’s delicious (and customizable!) ice cream sandwiches really hit the spot during my pregnancy!
