Ted’s take: I love Bridgeport. The people are REAL Chicago and pull no punches. There are a great number of places to eat in the neighborhood, but only one spot takes you across the pond for some classic meat pie.

The fellas at Pleasant House are doing things right by sticking to traditional recipes their Grandmother shared with them and by keeping with the times in the form of a urban garden. The crust on these things is flaky, buttery and downright sinful. Inside, the stew is a perfect balance of savory, making these pies the quintessential comfort food.
